American Heritage Properties is a full service residential property management company specializing and focused in the management of single family homes and condominiums in San Diego County. Our program is designed to assist owners of quality homes who elect to lease them. Special emphasis is placed on property preservation, quality tenants, and reduced vacancy time.

Broker and Chief Property Manager
Bill Ausen has been with American Heritage Properties since 1988, seven years after his father, John Ausen, founded the company. Bill has experience in all aspects of residential property management and supervises the management of over $330 million of San Diego real estate.
Founder
John Ausen founded American Heritage Properties in 1981, after retiring as a Navy officer with over 22 years of service. Recognizing that San Diego needed a highly streamlined and professional property management company, his military experience contributed to his organization and development of a company with the highest integrity and standards.
Staff
The office is fully staffed with 22 full-time employees. Each staff member is screened for maturity, sound judgment and dependability. Each has a commitment to making American Heritage Properties the best property manager in the business.
Staff Organization
Homes are managed by a management team. Each team consists of a Senior Property Manager, a Property Manager, and an Assistant Property Manager. This team is responsible for handling the daily tasks of managing homes.
The Management Teams are supported by a Leasing Department that is responsible for receiving and routing calls, describing properties to prospective tenants, and setting appointments.
An Accounting Department processes rental payments, makes payments on accounts, processes statements and handles tax form preparation.
The Marketing Department contracts and initiates marketing strategies for new and existing clients.
All departments work together as a team to manage the homes we handle.
